Gemma O’Brien is an internationally renowned designer and artist known for her bold graphics, calligraphy, and large-scale wall paintings. Her work has been commissioned by Apple, Nike, and Google, and is held in the permanent collection of the Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum in New York City. Alongside her commercial illustration and brand collaborations, she explores language and aims to elevate words to art through her studio practice.
In 2026, she is creating new work for a solo exhibition, developing a wallpaper collection, and speaking on her research into neuroaesthetics and flow states in visual artists.
Gemma is one of those artists that perfectly reflects her personality in their work. It's beautifully detailed, fluid yet meticulous, its sophisticated but also knows when to not take itself too seriously.
Gemma's level of craft comes from years of refinement. She is an absolute force and we're very lucky to have her as part of the Witness family.
